Growing Up… Growing Wise
A resource designed to teach Year 5-6 pupils about the nature and purpose of the changes of puberty, to help them deal with these changes in a practical way and to encourage them to make wise decisions as they develop and mature. The lessons discuss relationships and marriage, and teach about conception and birth in an age-appropriate way.
Includes slides with information, diagrams, pictures and video clips, teacher’s guide, worksheets, parents’ evening slide show and sample letter.
Growing Up God’s Way
Written by two doctors and published in partnership with Evangelical Press, this book will help young people understand the changes that take place in their bodies and minds during puberty and how to deal with them. It explains why these changes happen and looks at God’s design for relationships and marriage. All the topics are covered from a Biblical perspective and encourage young people to face the opportunities and challenges of puberty in a way that honours God.
There are separate versions available for girls and boys.
Marriage (for schools)
‘Marriage’ explores the key elements of marriage, including the vows and the purpose of marriage. It also covers the Bible’s teaching about sex and the benefits of saving sex for marriage. It concludes with practical advice on going out. The topics in the DVD are helpfully illustrated by interviews with couples and individuals who discuss their thoughts and experiences first-hand, making this an engaging and valuable resource for the classroom.
Marriage, Sex & Living Wisely
‘Marriage, Sex & Living Wisely’ teaches Year 8-10 pupils about marriage and the benefits of saving sex for marriage and helps them to make good choices in their relationships. It is suitable for use in RE, Citizenship or PSHE lessons.
Resource includes CD with engaging slides and video clips, teacher’s book and worksheets.
Pornography – Dangers & Decisions
A resource to help schools teach about the dangers of pornography and to encourage young people to make good decisions. Pornography is widespread and easily accessible but many young people have never been taught about the dangerous consequences that watching it can have. This resource provides teachers with information and visuals to give a lesson on the issues involved and to encourage young people to make good decisions about what they look at.
Resource includes a disc with a visual presentation. Background scientific and medical information and personal stories are also included.
The Facts About Abortion
A web-based presentation for young people aged 13-18 which covers the ethical, biological, legal and medical aspects of abortion from a pro-life, Christian perspective.
Includes detailed presenter notes with links to further information when relevant. Presents the facts about abortion with clean, simple, minimal look and style to the design and layout.
Designed for use in schools and in youth groups. Some of the material is of a sensitive nature; it is therefore not recommended for young people under 13 years old (Year 8).
The presentation invites interaction with the class and could be split and given over two lessons.
